Task : Prevent users from placing a new exact bid unless they’ve been outbid

Feature Description:

This functionality will restrict users from placing the same bid amount unless they have been outbid. If a user is already the highest bidder at a given amount, the system will prevent them from re-submitting the same bid. This ensures more efficient and purposeful bidding behavior while keeping the bid log concise.

As previously discussed, the Unlimited version of the plugin includes two bidding layouts (First and Second), and supports two bidding methods:

  • AJAX-based bidding – Users can place bids without a page refresh

  • Non-AJAX bidding – The page reloads upon placing a bid

To implement the requested feature, the following steps are required:

  1. Add settings to enable/disable the restriction

    • Individual settings for Simple and Proxy auctions

    • Estimated time: 2 hours

  2. Apply functionality to the First Layout

    • For both Simple and Proxy auctions

    • Supports both AJAX and Non-AJAX bidding

    • Estimated time: 7 hours

  3. Apply functionality to the Second Layout

    • For both Simple and Proxy auctions

    • Supports both AJAX and Non-AJAX bidding

    • Estimated time: 7 hours

  4. Testing the complete implementation

    • Ensuring all scenarios function correctly

    • Estimated time: 2 hours
