Update Bidding Process

Objective

We propose customizing the PRO version of the Ultimate Auction plugin to match your specified workflow. The goal is to allow users to place bids without creating an account while ensuring that bid notifications and auction results are sent automatically. The winner will receive instructions on item collection and payment, without any online checkout.

Key Features to Implement:

  1. Users can submit bids without logging in.
  2. Collect bidder’s name and email during bid submission.
  3. Send bid placement notifications to users immediately after bidding.
  4. Send winning notifications to both the winning user and the admin after the auction ends.
  5. The winner does not pay online; instead, they receive information on item collection and offline payment.

 

Development Process

Phase 1 – Admin Setting

  • Add option to enable or disable guest user biding.
  • Modify Winner email and add payment information  

 

Phase 2 – Front End 

  • Modify the bidding process to allow guest bids (no account required). 
  • Add fields for collecting name and email during bid submission. 
  • Configure automatic bid placement notifications. 
  • Customize the auction end logic to send winning notifications to both admin and winner. 
  • Remove the online payment requirement for winners and add offline payment instructions.

Phase 3 – Testing & QA

  • Test bid submission by guest users to ensure notifications are sent correctly. 
  • Test auction completion workflow and notifications. 
  • Validate the collection of user information and email functionality. 

 

Phase 4 – Deployment & Support

  • Deploy the customized solution to the live site. 
  • Provide 1–2 weeks of post-deployment support to fix any minor issues.
